CEP x Nobody's Listening VR | November 3, 2022 | Main Film

Tuesday, Dec 13, 2022

The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) has partnered with Nobody's Listening, a groundbreaking virtual reality (VR) experience & exhibition by Yazda and Upstream to commemorate the Yazidi Genocide and inspire action to help communities across Iraq .

On November 3, 2022, CEP and Nobody's Listening launched the school program, which aims to teach students in London about the Yazidi genocide by ISIS. It is the first time that VR is being used as a tool to prevent extremism and genocide.

"About two years ago, the Yazidi genocide became quite a big research priority and research theme for Counter Extremism Project. One thing we always want to do is we want to connect all of our research themes to programmatic work. So we want to make sure that once we've done the research on it, there's actually an output, there's something to show for that, something that we can engage the public on as well." -Liam Duffy, Strategic Advisor - CEP
