CEP Senior Advisor Dr. Hany Farid, in an interview with Sky News, discusses the availability of technologies capable of significantly reducing the incidence of extremist and other harmful content readily available on the Internet and social media platforms and the unwillingness of big technology companies to take more responsibility for what is posted to their platforms. 

"The public, and frankly, the advertisers, are getting tired of this hands off approach, that this is not our problem, we simply allow people to do things, and if they do bad things, well, you know, we're sorry about that."

Fact:

On January 23, 2019, two car bombs exploded outside of a mosque in Benghazi, Libya, killing 41 people and injuring 80 others. No group claimed responsibility for the blast, but remnants suggested an ISIS affiliate was responsible.
