CEP Applauds Creation of Countering Violent Extremism Task Force Under George Selim

(New York, NY) -- The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) today applauded the Obama Administration’s creation of a government-wide Countering Violent Extremism Task Force, housed at the Department of Homeland Security, to more effectively coordinate all CVE programs in America.

“Recent events in San Bernardino exposed the shortcomings of America’s counter radicalization efforts,” said CEP CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace. “By bringing all government programs together under the leadership of George Selim, who has a proven record of effectiveness with both law enforcement agencies and the Muslim community, we will greatly improve opportunities to prevent radicalization in towns and cities all across America.”
