On September 28, 2021, ISIS agents attempted to smuggle 500 kilograms of TNT into Iraq from Syria via car. Iraq security forces stopped the vehicle at the border and seized the explosives.

On September 26, 2018, an improvised explosive device planted at the foot of a bridge exploded, killing eight soldiers in the lead vehicle of a Burkinabe military convoy traveling in northern Burkina Faso.

On September 15, 2019, a truck bomb exploded outside of the Al-Rai Hospital in Syria’s Aleppo Governorate, killing 12 civilians and injuring many more. There were no immediate claims of responsibility.

On September 14, 2021, a suicide bomber killed at least 11 people and wounded several others at a tea restaurant in Mogadishu’s Wadajir district. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility.

On September 12, 2018, a car bomb exploded outside a restaurant near Tikrit City, Iraq killing at least six people and wounding 42. There were no immediate claims of responsibility, though police suspected ISIS of planting the bomb.

On January 23, 2019, two car bombs exploded outside of a mosque in Benghazi, Libya, killing 41 people and injuring 80 others. No group claimed responsibility for the blast, but remnants suggested an ISIS affiliate was responsible.
